Abstract

In this chapter, the use of clean technologies and IoT solutions in manufacturing to reduce waste and promote a circular economy has been explored. The need for sustainable practices and the potential of renewable energy systems and eco-friendly materials to minimize waste throughout the production cycle have been highlighted. IoT-enabled devices can improve manufacturing processes by enabling real-time monitoring of resource consumption and waste generation. Successful implementations of these technologies are done through proper data analytics and machine learning algorithms applied to optimize resource allocation and maintenance. Challenges (initial investment costs, interoperability issues, and data security) are addressed to promote widespread adoption of clean technologies and IoT solutions. The importance of integrating these technologies in the manufacturing sector to advance the circular economy agenda has been illustrated.
