Abstract

This chapter unveils Affectagogy, a transformative pedagogical approach that bridges the emotional and cognitive realms of learning. Recognizing the undeniable influence of emotions on knowledge acquisition, Affectagogy emphasizes the concept of learning with the heart to nurture knowledge through emotional bonds. It explores the synergistic relationship between affect (emotions and feelings) and pedagogy (teaching methods). The chapter introduces “human-touch learning,” highlighting the significance of empathy, social interaction, and resilience-building in fostering deeper student engagement, motivation, and well-being. Practical guidelines are provided for implementing Affectagogy across educational levels, encompassing the thoughtful integration of educational technology. Ultimately, this chapter advocates for a holistic approach to education, emphasizing the cultivation of both emotional and intellectual intelligence. This balanced approach aims to prepare learners for success in an emotionally intelligent world, fostering resilience, empathy, and a lifelong love of learning.
