Abstract
This chapter embarks on a comprehensive exploration of the equity challenges entailed in learning management systems (LMS) within the domain of online education, under the critical gaze of social reproduction theory. The significance of this inquiry arises from the recognition that while LMS have emerged as potent instruments for course administration, they are not immune to perpetuating or ameliorating existing social inequalities. Within this chapter, the author undertakes an extensive analysis of these equity challenges, examining facets such as access, content accessibility, design, assessment, and various dimensions of online learning, all framed within the conceptual framework of social reproduction theory. This narrative endeavors to provide a holistic understanding of the intricate interplay between LMS, social reproduction dynamics, and equity within educational settings.
