The Last Frontier(s)

Abstract

The main purpose of this chapter is to offer a case-study about the educational exploration of some pieces of archival material related to the Spanish exploration of Northwestern America. The particular feature of my contribution focuses on the technical difficulties this process my encompass. Having access to the discussed documents, and a proper scenario for remote teaching are only some of the challenges that the students may encounter. In consequence, the following pages will try to offer a solution (via an academic teaching-learning experience) to the different difficulties that may appear. Concepts such as digital gap, digital literacy, or urban-rural duality will be discussed, and how these can affect our students will be addressed.
