The increasing popularity of large-scale language models, such as ChatGPT, has led to growing worries about their safety, potential security threats, and ethical implications. This chapter thoroughly examines ChatGPT, an AI-powered chatbot that utilizes topic modeling and reinforcement learning to generate natural and coherent answers. Even though ChatGPT has enormous promise in a variety of fields, it is crucial to critically assess its security, privacy, and ethical implications. By analyzing possible security flaws in ChatGPT deployment across several scenarios, the chapter begins a thorough investigation. The authors thoroughly examine the security concerns that come with the extensive use of this powerful language model, including exploiting its flaws via adversarial attacks and the unexpected ramifications in real-world applications. Finally, the authors examine the unresolved issues in these domains, encouraging collaborative endeavors to guarantee the advancement of safe and ethically extensive language models.
