Abstract
To improve the fatigue failure of systems, parametric accelerated life testing (ALT) is suggested. It includes (1) BX life scheme, (2) load evaluation, (3) a tailored representative of ALTs with adjustments, and (4) a calculation of whether product gets to the goal for the BX life. A quantum-transferred life-stress failure approach and sample size are recommended. As a case examination, the reliability of new drawer has been studied. In the 1st ALT, the handles fractured because of structural defects. As action plans, the whole handle width by providing an enhanced design that could correct the failures was enlarged. In the 2nd ALT, the slide rails of Freezer drawer also were being cracked and fractured because they did not have sufficient capacity to withstand the repeated food load in the Freezer drawer. To upgrade the design of slide rails in the drawer, additional strengthened ribs and boss, and an internal chamber in both rails were attached. After parametric ALTs, the altered Freezer drawer is anticipated to fulfill the lifetime aim – B1 life of 10 years.
