Abstract

The global tourism industry has undergone a profound transformation in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, necessitating a re-evaluation of travel trends and priorities. The purpose of this study is to explore the rejuvenation of tourism destinations by sustainable tourism practices as a key element for post-pandemic recovery. The research also provides a positive direction and insights to the COVID-19 struck destinations through development of sustainable tourism in future. Sustainable tourism development has achieved a new meaning and greater scope during the lockdown period in many destinations and therefore, the present study is beneficial for the providing a new and better way of initiating environment friendly tourism practices in the destinations which are majorly dependant on the tourism. The study provides suitable answers to the destinations which are looking forward to undertaking improved the sustainable tourism development practices.
