Abstract
This chapter delves into enhancing communication and social skills for diverse-needs students in inclusive education, offering practical measures. It highlights universities' key roles in knowledge production, teaching, and engagement, emphasizing the need to comprehend personal teaching theories. Drawing on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, it stresses the obligation for states to ensure reasonable accommodation, fostering equality in education. Employing a qualitative desk study with a triangulation design, the chapter underscores communication's pivotal role and advocates for modules on communication and social skills in teaching to foster positive relationships. The recommendation includes attracting skilled lecturers, implementing policies, and updating communication models in inclusive education settings. Challenges in improving social skills are viewed as opportunities for intervention and remediation, encouraging a proactive approach.
