Abstract
This chapter investigates the pivotal role of logistics within the context of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16, focusing on “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.” SDG 16 serves as a cornerstone in the global pursuit of sustainable development, emphasizing the critical importance of governance, access to justice, and institutional integrity in fostering stable and inclusive societies. Despite the significant attention given to policy frameworks and institutional reforms within discussions surrounding SDG 16, the role of logistics, particularly in transportation and supply chain management, remains understudied. This chapter elucidates the intricate intersections between logistics and the overarching goals of SDG 16 through a multidisciplinary inquiry. Drawing upon theoretical frameworks from transportation studies, supply chain management, and international development, the chapter explores how logistical operations contribute to advancing peace, justice, and institutional resilience.
