Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine how the tourist industry, with a special emphasis on experiential tourism, can help India achieve its sustainable development goals. This study analyses the factors that most affect a tourist's motivation to travel. Both demographic and destination preference characteristics were taken into account. An empirical analysis was conducted using 130 reliable surveys among the Indian population following a thorough review of the literature. In order to ascertain the link between the variables, an equation model was created. The findings illustrated the significance of destination preference and demographic factors in influencing a person's decision to travel. With an R Square value of 0.331, these independent factors were able to explain 33% of the variation in travel motivation. The study's findings can also be utilized by the authorities to create or alter the best plans of action that affect tourism's sustainability.
