Abstract

This chapter discusses the convergence of knowledge engineering and artificial intelligence in the context of knowledge management, highlighting the synergy between these disciplines to optimize organizational processes. Both have promising potential to improve knowledge management by automating tasks such as collecting, filtering, analyzing, and organizing data, information, and knowledge while identifying relevant patterns for strategic organizational development. It explores how knowledge engineering contributes to its representation and application, while artificial intelligence enhances hyper-automation and predictive analysis through advanced algorithms. The methodology adopted is an exploratory analysis that provides a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics involved in this disciplinary convergence and its implications for knowledge management. As a result, it highlights not only the unique contribution of knowledge engineering to representation and its efficient application, but also the amplifying role of artificial intelligence in organizational processes.
