Abstract
In the hyperconnected era of accelerating demand for innovation, the need for advanced wireless technologies has gained significant traction. Smart antenna systems, regarded as the pillars of 5G technology play a pivotal role in wireless communication systems. Adaptation of the smart antenna technologies propels the optimization of costs and quality, along with the seamless realization of operational activities across the multi-technology wireless networks. Every generational advancement in wireless connectivity has led to the rise of new market players disrupting conventional technologies. With the rise of encrypted and long-range data in today's digital world, the leading players emphasize on expanding with the usage of 5G millimeter-wave radio frequencies unleashing several opportunities. The chapter discusses the key smart antenna applications and the technology landscape in different countries.
