Abstract
Human is a concept that refers to a single species. Different characteristics in terms of creation have led to the division of human beings into sexes as men and women. Together, men and women form the basis of society. These two species cannot be separated from each other in the biological life cycle. Nevertheless, living conditions in different geographies due to the natural environment, cultural norms, poverty, structural gender oppression, etc. have led to the prominence of male dominance and the formation of gender inequality. Gender inequality can be seen most clearly in the stratification of occupational stratification in the work environment. With the strengthening of the women's movement in recent years, gender inequality has been at the center of discussions. In this section, leadership and leadership theories, women and leadership are examined. In this context, efforts to empower women and women's leadership in Türkiye from the foundation of the Republic of Türkiye to the present day are evaluated, conclusions are drawn and recommendations are presented.
