Abstract

This chapter examines the role of web series as influential instruments for fostering environmental awareness and augmenting ecological literacy. It employs exemplars such as 'Jengaburu Curse,' 'The Railway Men,' and 'Teerandaz' to elucidate its argument. The study scrutinizes how these narratives intricately interweave fictional storytelling with environmental messages, effectively raising awareness of critical ecological issues. Through systematic examination, the study explores the web series' role in unravelling environmental complexities and elucidates the socio-political factors influencing environmental discourse. Through the deconstruction of these narratives, the researchers strive to enhance understanding of the potential of visual storytelling in cultivating environmental consciousness. Ultimately, it advocates for a paradigm shift in public perception, underscoring the transformative influence of web series in sensitizing individuals to ecological concerns and encouraging deeper engagement with environmental issues within Indian society.
