Abstract
This book chapter explores the diverse factors that impact student well-being in higher education by examining the intersection of academic, social, physical, mental health, and financial factors. Student welfare is a critical component of student success and satisfaction in higher education institutions, influencing academic performance, retention rates, and overall quality of life. The chapter delves into the challenges faced by students, including course load, academic pressure, peer relationships, campus culture, physical stress, mental health, and financial burdens. Strategies for promoting student well-being, such as holistic approaches, prevention programs, support services, and collaboration between stakeholders, are discussed to offer practical solutions for enhancing student health and welfare in higher education. By understanding and addressing the factors impacting student welfare, university environments can foster a culture of well-being, resilience, and academic excellence among their student populations.
