Abstract

This chapter explores the potential of leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) for sustainable development and environmental resilience. As the world faces pressing challenges related to climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation, there is an urgent need to find innovative solutions that can promote sustainable practices and enhance the resilience of ecosystems. This chapter examines various applications of AI in the context of sustainable development and environmental resilience, including but not limited to climate modelling, energy optimization, waste management, biodiversity conservation, and disaster response. It also discusses AI's potential benefits and risks in these domains. It highlights the importance of ethical considerations, transparency, and inclusivity in AI-driven solutions. This chapter aims to provide insights into how AI can be effectively leveraged to create a more sustainable and resilient future for all by showcasing successful case studies and highlighting emerging trends and future directions.
