Abstract
In a crowded, interconnected world, it is becoming increasingly important to consider the ethical implications of decisions made by humans and AI. When AI and humans work together on decision-making in environmental policy, novel ethical considerations arise that require both parties to work in cooperation with one another. One party may be more knowledgeable about the situation at hand while the other may have access to resources not as readily available for a single party. There are many potential benefits for human-AI collaboration including efficiency, improving accuracy of predictions, expanding knowledge base and breadth of expertise without bias from a single perspective, etc. However, there are also potential drawbacks such as differing stances on ethics among different parties involved in collaboration. It is also possible that a party working in collaboration with a machine may not realize the extent of its involvement.
