Abstract
This chapter consolidates research findings from a range of ethnic, racial, cultural, and social identity groups regarding parenting youth to be resilient, healthy, and successful. The presented parenting strategies focus on scaffolding youth development and navigating the complex network of intersecting identities within diverse family contexts. The chapter includes parenting strategies that promote positive formation of intersecting identities and capacity to thrive. Strategies are conceptualized within a strengths-based, intersectional framework which functions to support academic success, psychological and social well-being, and global health of youth and enables them to thrive as they mature into adulthood.
