Abstract
The agriculture sector gives women an opportunity to establish their own businesses and work in groups to explore a variety of unexplored fields or succeed while using modern techniques to make money. Women's participation in various value chains may be impacted by shifts in the market for various agricultural goods, both food and non-food. Women may not always benefit from greater market engagement if participation is dependent on conditions that are disadvantageous to them. This chapter will cover various challenges faced by women along with opportunities for women in accessing markets and fair trade. Engaging women means not only giving them more responsibilities, but also helping to change the system in a way that ensures women's economic, social, and political empowerment, equal pay for men and women in agriculture, ownership of and access to productive resources, a decrease in workload that prevents them from taking advantage of other employment opportunities, and the opportunity to manage their income.
