Abstract
This proposed chapter will examine the dynamic interplay between social media, public perception, and behaviour during disasters. A particular emphasis will be placed on how artificial intelligence (AI) improves comprehension of this interplay. Information dissemination and consumption during crisis situations have changed due to the quick spread of social media platforms and the growing application of artificial intelligence (AI) in disaster management. Insights into how these technological developments affect public perception and, in turn, how they affect behavioural responses in crisis situations are provided in this chapter.
