Abstract
Sustainability has become an important factor for tourism, and technology is increasingly being employed to assist sustainable tourism growth. Technology and social media can improve sustainable development by promoting sustainable practices. The primary objective of this study is to conduct a bibliometric review and analysis to examine the influence of social media and technology on the transformation of the tourism industry. This study utilises bibliometric analysis to investigate the existing body of literature in academic journals, conference proceedings, and books published from 2014 to 2024. The Scopus database is employed for this purpose. Data for this bibliometric review are identified and extracted using the VOS Viewer and the PRISMA approach. This study demonstrates that the combination of technology and social media may alter the tourism businesses and raise awareness about sustainability. The study also presented fresh avenues for research within the travel and sustainable tourism domains themselves.
