Abstract
Wireless health monitors increase the efficiency of continuous and fast monitoring of patient health condition. High data communication in 5G bands is suitable in transmission of the huge data from body sensers. The 5G communication is in 3.5 GHz and 5.7-5.8 GHz. The present chapter discusses the design topologies of wideband wearable textile antennas for remote health monitoring in 5G and ISM band. Here three prototype design antennas are proposed: i) Dual band wearable textile antenna for ISM band 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz; ii) Wideband Rectangular; and iii) Wideband elliptical textile antenna for ISM, Wifi and 5G communication, wideband antennas bandwidth is from 1.6 GHz to 6.5 GHz. The antenna characteristics like return loss, gain and radiation patterns are discussed. The wide band antenna has less effect on shift in the resonant frequency during the conformal bending of the wearable antenna on patient body. Further antennas with lower SAR are preferred and hence SAR reduction using frequency selective techniques (FSS) from the literature is extensively discussed.
