Abstract

Women's non-governmental organizations represent an important segment of civil society in Georgia. Against the background of the aid provided by Western democratic countries and non-governmental donors, women's organized groups in Georgia emerged and multiplied in the form of women's non-governmental organizations since the 90s. The reason for their intense quantitative growth was the increased interest in women's and gender issues around the world, as well as the support and influence of international donors. The article describes the stages of development of women's civil activism in Georgia, the advocacy process of non-governmental organizations, and the problems of gender equality.
