Abstract

Libraries in this digital era of information dissemination serve as crucial hubs for accessing information and resources, making cybersecurity awareness among library professionals paramount. This chapter delves into the crucial realm of cybersecurity awareness in library environments, emphasizing its multifaceted nature, including data security, privacy, and threat mitigation. Real-world consequences of inadequate awareness underscore the urgency of addressing this issue. It explores the spectrum of cyber threats libraries face, emphasizing the pivotal role of cultivating cybersecurity awareness among librarians. Strategies for enhancing library cybersecurity are presented, recognizing its pivotal role in safeguarding valuable digital resources. Using surveys and comprehensive analysis, it provides insights into the cybersecurity awareness of Indian library professionals, examining their expertise, threat awareness, and influencing factors, revealing essential areas for improvement and further research.
