Abstract
Abuse and violence take many forms. An abusive partner can cause emotional pain by belittling, calling names, or unfairly blaming. Physical violence during pregnancy is the most common form of intimate partner violence. The consequences of this type of attack are particularly damaging and long-lasting. Violence during pregnancy not only damages the physical and mental health of the mother but also damages the health and well-being of future generations. Using a nonlinear regression analysis, this study tries to find out the differences between regions in women's empowerment and physical violence during pregnancy. It also looks into the direction of the relationship between women's empowerment and physical violence during pregnancy. The results show that there is a link between women's empowerment and physical violence during pregnancy. There were also significant differences between the regions when it came to women's empowerment and physical violence during pregnancy.
