Abstract
The ever-expanding field of flexible electronics requires that their components be adaptable and of high-performance, especially for communication networks. In this light, this study presents a novel textile antenna prototype designed for inclusion in modern flexible electronics, specifically for applications in advanced communication networks. The antenna will be fabricated using novel and flexible textile-oriented materials for it to be ideal for wearable and portable devices. Additionally, unsurpassed performance indicators such as bandwidth, directivity, frequency range, resonant frequency among others have been thoroughly researched for enhanced functionality. Specifically, the prototype exhibits a wide bandwidth of 110.34%, directivity of 5.14 dBi, and suitable in a frequency range 5.2-17.92 GHz, with the resonant frequency at 11.24 GHz. The applicability of the proposed antenna is in a variety of fields such as telemedicine and mobile health systems, and present-day communication systems in a smartphone system.
