Abstract
In this chapter, agriculture stands as the foundational pillar of the Indian economy, serving as a vital catalyst for growth and yielding substantial dividends in terms of revenue. Despite the commendable growth rate of the Indian economy, the state of agriculture remains less than satisfactory, marred by a multitude of disregarded challenges. India holds a prominent position as a leading supplier of essential commodities such as spices, pulses, saffron, and milk, significantly contributing to the nation's GDP and profoundly impacting the lives of the majority of its populace. Regrettably, these contributions have witnessed a decline. This study aims to elucidate the primary concerns and obstacles confronting Indian agriculture while also proposing potential remedies.
