Renewable Energy Supply Chain for Sustainability of Bus Stand Transportation Network

Abstract

The integration of renewable energy sources into bus transportation networks' supply chains is examined in this chapter in order to promote sustainability. With the use of electric buses, renewable energy sources like solar and battery for storage backup in Dhanbad and Govindpur bus stand located in Jharkhand aims to improve community well-being while cutting expenses and emissions through environmentally responsible public transportation. This study analyzes the advantages and opportunities of the green energy transition at the Dhanbad and Govindpur bus stands. The system of sustainable bus transportation networks, connected to the grid, improves efficiency by integrating renewable energy sources, estimating maintenance needs, managing loads, and optimizing energy use. The total energy produced by solar power in Dhanbad bus stand is 44,365kWh/year and that of the Govindpur bus stand is 51,005kWh/year. The autonomy hours for the battery in Dhanbad bus stand is 402 hours and that for the Govindpur bus stand is 375 hours.
