Abstract
In the time of the genomics and transhumanism, protection of genetic and enhancement information represents an obvious necessity for human resources management (HRM). As identified in this chapter, there are ethical, legal, and practical issues in incorporating such information into the policies of an organisation. This increases the focus on the creation of sound protocols for the informed consent procedures, the standards of data access and control, and the policies against discrimination. This chapter shows how organisations are able to tackle the associated dilemmas of handling genetic and enhancement data responsibly by respecting employee privacy and encouraging truthful conversation. The goal of this chapter is to describe the key role of HR function in enhancing the level of trust in today's world of big data.
