Abstract

In this chapter, the authors have analyzed the important role of different strategies such as satellite-based monitoring, remote sensing approach, as well as geographic information systems (GIS) in biodiversity conservation. Through the exploration of the multi-dimensional role of satellites, the research papers emphasize LiDAR and multispectral imaging as well as the effective integration of GIS. These techniques demonstrate how they can be used to tackle today's biodiversity problems. Spatial mapping and informed decision-making can be used to solve the complex problems created by the loss of biodiversity at the core level. And lastly, this chapter stresses the importance of all the techniques in protecting ecosystems, by using integrated approaches which combine the advantages of all the techniques and preserve biodiversity for a long time.
