Abstract
The metaverse, an evolving digital frontier integrating VR, AR, blockchain, 5G, and quantum computing, presents both opportunities and security challenges. This chapter explores these emerging technologies, their security implications, and the innovative measures developed to mitigate associated risks. The role of AI in enhancing metaverse security is examined, highlighting effective algorithms and future prospects. Challenges in scaling security, regulatory and ethical considerations, and collaborative approaches are discussed. A vision for a secure and inclusive metaverse is proposed, emphasizing key characteristics and strategies for accessibility. The chapter concludes with essential takeaways and future directions for metaverse security.
