Abstract
In the contemporary era, artificial intelligence (AI) has made tremendous strides. The emergence of artificial intelligence had a significant impact on upgrading transformation in the medical field. However, there is enormous optimism that the application of artificial intelligence would significantly enhance pivotal aspects of health care. Furthermore, AI can also be useful for highly specific personal profiling, which plays a vital role in understanding and targeting behavioural patterns along with that it also has the potential to forecast healthcare. In addition, artificial intelligence systems are already increasing the precision and efficacy of diagnosis and treatment across a wide range of specialisations, especially when combined with the intense advancements in computer processing in the health sector. Nevertheless, there are many challenges with the application of artificial intelligence in medical practice which are often hindered by a series of problems, including problems of privacy, data security, lack of operational simplicity, the problem of medical ethics, and the risk of fraud in the health sector. However, recent developments in artificial intelligence and virtual health will be proven to have positive effects on the health sector. This chapter discusses the role of artificial intelligence in the medical field. It also discusses the potential and challenges of artificial intelligence applications in the health sector.
