The escalating crisis of antibacterial resistance demands innovative strategies that transcend traditional approaches. Nanotechnology offers a promising avenue for combating antibacterial resistance by providing precise and multifaceted interventions. This chapter explores the diverse applications of nanotechnology in mitigating antibacterial resistance. It delves into the mechanisms underlying nanomaterial-bacteria interactions, highlighting how engineered nanoparticles can disrupt resistance mechanisms and enhance the efficacy of existing antibiotics. Through an exploration of recent research and case studies, this chapter showcases the potential of nanotechnology to revolutionize antibacterial therapies and contribute to the global efforts against resistance. This chapter aims to provide an in-depth exploration of how nanotechnology can revolutionize antibacterial strategies by addressing resistance mechanisms, enhancing drug delivery, and enabling rapid diagnostics, while also discussing the ethical and societal considerations associated with these advancements.
