Abstract

Energy harvesting has emerged as a promising method for generating renewable energy, especially when combined with internet of things (IoT) technologies. This chapter provides an overview of recent developments in energy harvesting design and techniques that leverage the internet of things for eco-friendly and efficient power generation. The integration of the internet of things with energy harvesting systems has revolutionized the way in which we harvest and utilize energy from a variety of ambient sources. This chapter discusses the design considerations and innovations in energy harvesting devices that facilitate seamless integration with internet of things networks, thereby facilitating real-time monitoring, data collection, and adaptive control strategies. In addition, this chapter emphasizes the numerous advantages of employing IoT in energy harvesting systems, such as remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and intelligent energy management.
