Abstract
Chapter provides an overview of the Bangladesh and the Indian economy and the contribution of tourism as an engine of growth to both the countries Both the countries pro-poor tourism development policies to meet United Nations SDGs are presented as a case. The challenges they face for implementing pro-poor tourism policies and opportunities in linking and achieving SDGs by developing and implementing pro-poor tourism policies is discussed amidst the local and global climate change challenges, public health emergencies and supply chain disruptions. The next section will discuss and critique the government policies- if tourism development in both the countries is pro-poor that includes bottom of the economic pyramid people that act as a catalyst for achieving the SDGs, or NOT? with managerial and policy recommendations and a development of an equitable, pro-poor tourism policy/business model, followed by conclusion.
