Abstract
Personalized healthcare and its implications for medical practice. Personalized healthcare refers to the tailoring of medical treatments and interventions to individual patients based on their unique characteristics and needs. This approach takes into account the patient's genetic makeup, lifestyle habits, environmental factors, and personal preferences to optimize treatment outcomes. The main aim is to explore the various components of personalized healthcare, including genomics, pharmaceuticals, and digital health technologies. It examines how advances in these areas have facilitated the development of personalized medicine, where treatments are customized to target specific genetic mutations or biomarkers. Additionally, this chapter aims to address the potential of personalized healthcare to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs by avoiding unnecessary treatments and adverse events. The ethical and legal considerations surrounding personalized healthcare are also examined.
