Abstract
This chapter examines performance evaluation, a vital aspect of organizational management. It begins by defining its essence and role in assessing and enhancing employee performance. Key stages in effective reviews are outlined, including goal setting, observation, feedback, and follow-up. Common challenges such as bias, ambiguous metrics, and employee resistance are addressed. The chapter underscores how evaluations support employee development and motivation, aiding organizational strategy and goal achievement. Lastly, it highlights HR's reliance on evaluations for talent management, succession planning, and fostering continuous improvement.
