Abstract

Homomorphic encryption is like a secret code that allows us to do calculations on private information without actually seeing the details. This is super important for keeping things private while still getting useful insights. This chapter discusses how homomorphic encryption can be implemented into smart city infrastructure. Furthermore, the research investigates the potential of homomorphic encryption and blockchain technology integration to make smart cities even more secure. This chapter explores the impact of homomorphic encryption on privacy in smart cities. It examines the legal and technological factors at play, considering how regulations can both help and hinder the use of this technology. Ultimately, it argues that homomorphic encryption is key to balancing privacy and utility, essential for the success of smart city initiatives.
