Abstract
In this critical autoethnographic work, the author shares her experiences working in higher education as a white, Muslim, American, hijabi, woman and how the multiplicity of her identity has impacted her work environment, her work relationships, her ability to advance in position, and at times, her ability to gain employment. She shares candid moments in her career where her identity was both affirmed and challenged. She speaks to the struggles of her identity development, the complexity of navigating the campus environment, and those within it. She reflects on her own struggles with the multiple-ness of who she is, her own impostership, and inner-dissonance. She asks some hard questions of herself and higher education. She seek change.
