Abstract
The standards and recommended practices set in place for early childhood educators serve as a guide for educators in knowing the most important considerations for educational practice. The early childhood education standards for in-person and remote learning share seven commonalities. The seven commonalities are (1) continued learning for educators, (2) classroom environment and social emotional learning (SEL), (3) knowledge of students and developmentally appropriate practice (DAP), (4) assessment, (5) pedagogy, (6) instructional design and/or digital learning platforms, (7) reflection and feedback. QR codes are used throughout to provide the author's personal examples of how instruction was adapted and shown to students and families during the pandemic via text messaging applications.
