Interparadigmatic Perspectives Are Supported by Data Structures

Abstract

Tools for recording individual perspectives on realities have long constituted the guiding theme for geographers. In this article, several cases for perceiving complex political and socio-economic realities try to make their partial views converge. The cases presented show the practical contributions of learning platforms (thus, IT) in facilitating the exchange of fact-based concepts for the exchange of viewpoints to facilitate common understanding in cases where diverse viewpoints prevail. Transdisciplinary approaches for defining “learning” are intentionally combined even if these may stem from psychology, education, political sciences, and transdisciplinary socio-political approaches. The reason is that in practical university teaching, all participating views of learning must be satisfied. Statistical data are presented. IT tools have promoted the dialogue in these cases of cooperative learning: Global Studies, the ESD forum, the Environmental Systems Analysis Curriculum USW, and the European Union Twinning tool applied in neighbouring European countries.
