Abstract

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Ad Hoc Committee on Oral Reading Fluency Measures in School-Aged Children who Stutter developed and disseminated a survey examining the types of evaluation tools used when measuring oral reading fluency, district policies for students who stutter, the use of accommodations for students who stutter, and the confusion of stuttering with oral reading fluency problems. This article summarizes the survey questions and the outcomes of this survey. The Ad Hoc Committee included members of three Special Interest Groups (SIGs): SIG 4, Fluency & Fluency Disorders; SIG 1, Language & Language Disorders; and SIG 16, School-Based Issues.
