Abstract
Purpose:
This case study describes how problem-solving was used in the case of a 4-year 10-month-old girl, who presented with stuttering.
Method:
The treatment described is the Lidcombe Program for young children who stutter. The problem-solving process that is integral to providing this therapy is explored in four problems encountered during Mia's therapy.
Results:
As a result of this ongoing process, therapy becomes individualized for each family, and these decisions support continuous progress.
Conclusion:
This clinical focus article is an example of how problem-solving can be carried out within the structure of the Lidcombe Program.
