Abstract
Recent revolutionary changes in domestic neonatology were caused by the dynamic development and practical implementation of a large number of modern technologies: medical, organizational and educational, which significantly improved the quality of medical care for newborns, which in its turn has ultimately led to a significant reduction in infant mortality in Russia. Modern technologies for nursing of premature newborns, including those with very low and extremely low birth weight, ensured a high survival rate for this group of infants and set up a new task for pediatric physicians: the need for long-term follow-up and comprehensive habilitation of such kind of patients in the outpatient clinics. In order to improve the developmental outcomes, to reduce the incidence of disability, reduce the severity of diseases and improve the quality of life of these children the new medical and organizational forms of work are needed with the involvement of a multidisciplinary team of specialists trained in habilitation programs for premature newborns. In order to solve these problems it is necessary to create departments of dynamic follow-up and a comprehensive program of medical examination and habilitation for premature newborns who have undergone critical conditions, which will require the development and implementation of a regulatory Procedure for the provision of medical care.
