Poétique et enjeux d’un cosmopolitisme transmigratoire

Abstract

«How do new arrivals and their hosts [...] build a shared world? What vision of contemporary cosmopolitanism can literature offer us?» This article explores these key questionsby examining the notions of «ordinary cosmopolitanism» (Agier, 2019) and « shared world» (Tassin, 2003) in order to define the concept of «transmigratory cosmopolitanism». Moreover, through studying two works, Mur Méditerranée by Louis-Philippe Dalembert (2019) and Les Lumières d'Oujda by Marc Alexandre Oho Bambe (2020), we aim to show that a pragmatic approach to poetry is used in order to engage the reader and present an image of cosmopolitanism: a resolutely transversal, action based concept; a far cry from the usual identity politics and inequal power dynamics, condescending attitudes and national obsessions which strives to construct the world both collectively and politically.
