Abstract

"The aim of this article is to propose an analysis of the French adverbs sincèrement, franchement and entre nous as semantic-pragmatic operators. Within a polyphonic framework (Anscombre, Donaire y Haillet [éds]: 2013), we shall see in which way the use of each unit in discourse determines the organization of different points of view convoked by the utterance act. Our interest is to prove that both franchement and entre nous involve a previous point of view which they are against, while sincèrement denotes the speaker’s psychological attitude to the message content.
