Abstract

Since they gained popularity, mobile apps have become an integral part of our daily lives. What is a smart phone app? A mobile application is a software programme built and developed to operate on a mobile device such as a smart phone, tablet, or even a smart watch. It is also known as a mobile app or just an app. A smart phone app can be anything from a simple programme for checking the weather to a more complicated programme like banking software. There isn't a single industry that doesn't use mobile apps in some capacity, and this includes the health care sector. This article examines the use of mobile apps with a focus on the health care sector and discusses their advantages when used effectively to enhance the patient experience.
