Abstract
A total of five (5) new invasive occurrences of the giant native freshwater bivalve (mussel/ naiad) Mycetopodidae Anodontites trapesialis (Lamarck, 1819) in fishing farms enterprises for consumption and leisure located in the geographical region of Southern Brazil were recently verified and confirmed. An highly remarkable and controversial mollusc, with diverse bioecologically qualities (synanthropic, hermaphroditic, environmental pollution resistant) and wide known Neotropical natural distribution, which still has been considered as species "threatened with extinction".
