Abstract

This article presents the construction of the Psychological Effects of Long-term Stress Questionnaire for adults with moderate and severe intellectual disabilities. This tool is used toscreen symptoms in five areas: (1) physiological symptoms, (2) loss of energy, skills, anhedonia, withdrawal, (3) increased level of excitability, (4) sexual behavior, (5) new, unusual behavior. The theoretical basis for distinguishing groups of problem areas and the history of constructing the questionnaire were presented. The questionnaire obtained satisfactory results in the factor analysis and reliability analysis.
