Abstract
The important role of communication in human resources leads to the growing interest in the discurse aspect of HRM. The aim of this article is to draw attention to the metaphorical dimension of human resources management, reflected in particular the persuasive character of metaphors and their role in coaching communication. The key features of this discourse have been illustrated by examples from books targeted at people who want to deepen their knowledge about coaching. The main domains used in coaching discourse such as sports, biology, medicine, travel, fairytale and cuisine have been selected on the basis of gathered examples.
